KOSA+’ Pneumatic Actuator, the best solution for P.O.V*!
P.O.V-Pneumatic cylinder Operated Valve actuator.
It is called the ‘Air Actuator’, ‘Cylinder Actuator’, or ‘Pneumatic Actuator ’.
Though it is also used in some of the linear slide valves, it is mostly used in the automation of quarter turn valves.
(ball valve, plug valve, butterfly valve, damper valve and etc.) which rotate 90°.
Usable under the low/high temperature or vibration environment as it is not susceptible to operation environment.
Very stable under the explosive environment as it does not use electricity.
Usable in ESV (Emergency Shut-off Valve) also as the response time is very fast compared to MOV* or AOV*.

Operational
principle
Upon air supply, pistons move horizontally, turning the shaft by the arm connected to the pistons.

Benefits - Smooth on/off with the
   torque curve
   synchronized with
   valves.
- Relatively higher torque
   than the same model
   inRack&Pinion type.
scotck yoke torque - Short body length makes it easier to fit in
   small spaces.
- The multi-spring structure enables adjustment
   of number of springs to suit the site
   requirements.
Weakness - long length due to the piston stroke.
- Multi-spring disabled and therefore a jig is
   required fo00r spring adjustment.
- Rigid torque.
- It requires the bigger
   cylinder inner-dia
   to achieve the same
   torque as the
   Scotch-yoke type.

Misc - Due to high torque in large models,
   Scotch-yoke types are commonly used.
- Due to short piston stroke in compact models,
   Rack&Pinion types are commonly used.
- In order to ensure that each part withstands
   high torque, design works and durability tests
   must be carefully conducted.
- Gears being the media connecting pistons to
   shafts, their quality affect the actuator’s
   performance directly. High precision gear
   design technique is therefore essential.
